How is Scouting organised?
Scoutings great strength lies in its grassroots. It
is locally that Scouting is best able to identify and work
directly with those young people most in need. Scouting offers
bridges to a world of social involvement and inclusion through
education and activity.
At a local level, the Scout Group provides support for the
first three sections, from Beavers through to Scouts, ages
6 through to 14.
A suuport structure exists to help the Group and provide
Scouting for those aged over 14 (Explorer Scouts and the Scout
Network).
I'm confused about who I need to contact!
If you are looking for contacts in your local area, please
complete a general enquiry
form to find out more, or contact
your local group.
If your Son or Daughter is already a member of Scouting,
your first point of contact should always be the leaders
running the section.

Acknowledgements to The
Scout Association for use of the diagram.
